Lovely beech huts, Mike! It seems you have a very good eye for photogenic spots! I tend to agree with Sonolta’s comments about composition and contrast, though. (Also, the WB looks slightly bluish-greenish on my monitor.) But your photos always catch my attention. Thanks for posting them.

For me the shadows are a bit to dark and the contrast just a tad to much. Your style of super tight, sometimes chopped compositions, is not my cup of tea either, but that is probably just personal taste.

BTW, KM5D and Minolta 7hi colors are terrific..even at ISO 800 and 1600!

I totally agree about the 7Hi colors, but not at 800 ASA (and 1600 ASA doesn't exist on this model)

400 ASA was already hard to use...

Mike, I used to be associate editor of Photo Technique and then editor of Creative Photography - remember those? So you probably know that I do not find your composition, or colour/contrast, anything but excellent! That was 1978-82 and we loved Pete Turner, Robert Farber an others who pioneered intense or diffused (anything but natural) colour slide work. Today's photo mags are positively soppy with their long exposure endless sunset/sunrise beaches and waterfalls. Back then we knew how to kick ass with colour and cropping and wide angles and polarisers!

thanks for all comments some for and some against. i have with this shot and my fox by the roadside( i uploaded a photo and learnd about anthrax) got some debate going although not intended. Still more fun than chewing cud like what happens on dpreveiw.

BTW i was in a dept store and looking at TV sets and i could not help notice they all had the colour set to different levels also contrast and pictures did not look the same, made me wonder are we all looking at the same picture regards colour, contrast etc, on our monitors. just a thought.
