Whittier, Alaska. Entrance to Prince Williams Sound. Town Population ~200. Almost entire town lives in one building shown below. There is a school next door connected with underground tunnel. When the town is snowed in, the school still runs. There are no private residences other than the building you see at the back of the photo. There is only one hotel in town, one inn and no traffic lights. But the port of Whittier handles about 40% of freight coming into Alaska according to locals. The beauty of the town in unsurpassed as you see in the photos below.
My photography skills or lack there of do not do justice to the beauty of the place.
