EXIF edit

May I ask if you could lead me to a software for EXIF writing?
I have lots of negatives I scanned and still scanning, and I need to change the date (even the time in some shots. You know, an included calendar, clock, wrist watch, etc) and some camera and lens details, even GPS if possible.
But please, let it be an easy one (for dumbs, if you prefer ).

Oh, I almost forgot. I scan all pictures in TIFF format.

You can do this using Sony's own Picture Motion Browser, I am sure - I do not use it, but when I had their GPS tracker, I think PMB was the porgram I used to correct the date/time stamp on the pictures. Now I use Phase One Media Pro, one of the most useful programs I have ever bought.

Just for visual appeal, I used David Anthony's pic from here http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/vie ... =20&t=7566, brought it into PhotoME.

Since it had no EXIF data, I exported some from a shot of mine, opened the photo and imported the data into the pic. Then I modified it.

Look and you'll see that I took the that photo today w/ my A350, firmware ver. 2.5, at 1/1000 sec, F17, ISO 25. The lens name and ID I can't change, but my 28-135 took it at 635mm setting, or 12mm FF equiv, according to the EXIF. That lens, BTW, shows a max aperture of f1.2.

All this was modded by PhotoME, and if you just need to mod times, it's easy. Anything in blue you should be able to mod.

Okay, you can do the same to TIFFs, but an even better program is Exif Pilot.

I can now change the lens to be a Minolta 8-635, and it On a Phony A3500 camera!

Again, if you have NO EXIF data, you need to export some from a like photo and then change everything.

TIFF attached. Has to be shrunk as TIFFs are so large!

I don't have an easy solution. For my own use I wrote a program based on Word VBA macros to update individual EXIF fields (description, data/time, orientation, etc), including the makernote fields where the format is known. This is useful when the whole file does not need rewriting, but is fairly specific to the couple of old cameras I have.

I've also written some specialised programs for the rewriting of JPEGs and TIFFs to add just about any EXIF data including IPTC information. This is based on data initially entered into an Excel spreadsheet. I normally use this to finalise TIFFs from my scanner or to update JPEGs. Although this software will do everything you're asking for, it does not have a nice user interface. At the very least, filenames have to be carefully edited in...
