Very nice bird shots ValeryD. Looks like the first one might be on a nest?
The two looking down at you are great. Squirrels pop up everywhere and
are always a welcome addition. ;^)

Those owls are quite surprised to be "shot" with a Sony...

Wow Doc  That is an impressive looking bird, and a very nice shot. I like the way it is glancing over its shoulder at you.

Good one Doc, an interesting bird, I was reading up about the bird and came across a brief report about a woman who fell off a cliff in Spain this month (and died apparently) but was eaten by Griffons before rescue teams could recover the body, there was only some bones and clothes left  (I don’t know how long it was after the fall that the recovery attempt was made).

Nice Griffon vulture, but I do like the sound of a Griffon

in a Spitfire, although the Merlin has a more refined purr compared to the harsh staccato of the Griffon.

A meagre start with our feathered friends and nothing so exotic as vulture.

Starting with a juvenile Black Headed gull, Sony A700 + Minolta 80-200mm f2.8 High Speed APO

Image

and I think this Jackdaw could almost qualify as being BIF. Sony A700 + Sony 70-300mm G SSM

Image

Edit. Yes it was raining.

And now a Blast from the Past, one I took of a Rook, Minolta Dynax D7D + Sigma 50-500mm EX (aka Bigma):

Image

does this bird have brushed aluminium undercarriage?

Great shots Lionel. The first one is certainly not your typical BIF.
