That's fabulous Roger - the detail of the wing structure and the hairs on the bee's body are great - quite a pale coloured bee though? Please tell me that was with a macro lens?

Sony Alpha a700 with Sony 100mm f2.8 macro lens and I believe the species is Anthophora furcata


They do come in various shades and some are more ginger than others.


The lighting is different here (both photos taken a couple of days ago) but the bee was a different colour.
