Thanks for your concern guys - Looe has suffered much less then many other coastal towns here in the southwest - and most businesses are well aware that spring tides can result in flooding, so they take what precautions they can, but many have been inundated with water yet again. We haven't suffered the same level of storm damage that the likes of Dawlish have because the wind direction was not directly onto shore. We live high above the harbour so are just mindful of the high winds.

Sury, that isn't sensor noise in the sky (see 100% crop below at iso 800 no luminance smoothing just colour noise reduction in LR) its the grain added by DXO Filmpack replicating the old Ilford emulsion!

A pupil at a poor primary school in Sri Lanka looking on as donations of toys, games equipment (cricket sets being the most popular) books, pens etc were handed over to the teachers.

Hi Mobius - that's a great Edinburgh Castle shot, and you must have had the A7 fairly early after release - I was shooting in and around Kelso on the day we got that sky over Scotland, I was walking around just staring at the sky for half an hour as it passed over - using the A7R. I didn't convert any to b/w but also, there was no good foreground to speak of and no great light - we got the sky around 2.15pm. Loads of other people saw it in different places over the course of about three days but one day was so much more dramatic than the others.

Hi David. Thanks for the compliments. Yeah I got the A7 on pretty much the first week it was released near the end of last year. I'm not usually and early adopter especially with first generation camera gear but I figured the A7's were really the combined result of lessons learnt with the RX1 and the NEX 7 so I figured it was a good gamble. I must say I've not really looked back since getting it. I absolutely love it, its such a fun little camera with enormous capabilities. Just waiting on the weather getting better here in Edinburgh so I can get out a bit more with it.

Here are two more taken at the school in Sri Lanka. The expressions of the children as these strangers form the UK walked into their classroom bearing donations were a joy to behold. With almost 40 adults squeezing into the small room opportunities to grab photographs were limited and a bit of a challenge.

Been away from the forum for a while and already a forest of beautiful photos have accumulated for the eye to enjoy.

Sury, that's a lovely one of your lovely daughter. Good to see her again. I'm curious though, if she actually wears eye contact lenses because I can't quite explain the ghosts of circular shapes around the iris.

Ossie, very authentic portraits indeed. The earrings of the young boy is interesting. The western cultures are not used young boys getting their ears pierced but here we see the Asian boy already wearing out his probable first pair.

The "in your face" close crops are beginning to grow on me. Thank you for kind words.

Thank you. She does wear contacts and on that day she did wear them. It is very likely
that I might have tried to tweak her eyes in PP in Portrait Professional in addition to her
wearing contacts. This was taken with Sun behind her, with Hasselblad lens on A900 and
do not remember if I had fill flash (not likely). I was excited to HB lenses and happy to see
her agree for few quick shots and everything was a blur.
