Wow! Great size comparison. I guess if you are after shots were the composition is focused on centre then the size makes it compelling :)

A couple of recent shots with my A7. The landscape is with the kit zoom taken in the Pentland hills behind Edinburgh. If you're thinking about the A7 with the kit lens then I wouldn't let some reviewers put you off. The kit zoom is a very capable lens. Its clearly not a Zeiss but neither should it be as easily dismissed as some reviewers and bloggers and saying. The second shot of the fern taken in the botanical gardens here in Edinburgh was taken with Sony's 50mm SAM prime lens. Again a cheap but decent enough little lens.

Beautiful pictures Mobius. I love the rolling snow dusted hills in the first and great perspective in the second.

Great dramatic clouds and layers in the hills. Is this with the 24-70 / 4 ?

Great shots Mobius and DarinM. That Fern is very eye catching.
Looks like a very ominous storm there DarinM. I hope it did some
good snow wise. We had about 12" of rain in a 24 hour period and
last time we had more than 3" of rain was in 2009. Hoping this will
somewhat mitigate the drought situation. Still at 1/3rd of required
rain.

Birma, yup with the 24-70 / 4 but a horizontal crop on a vertical shot.

Sury, wish we had more down here just caught the edge of the storm and snow levels were around 8000' so it didn't do much for the spring.

Valery,
Those are some nice shots. I am curious to know why you thought this is not a camera for you, that is
if you are willing to share.

Let's put it that way, I used a7r not first time in my life. It's a second try.

Minus of the a7r:
A small body - a7 camera unstable in the hands. (I have a big hands)
The shutter-release button - in bad place, not like a1xx-a9x cameras.
Very slow autofocus, useless for take the reportages, an animals, a sport events and it's with very fast sel2470 Zeiss, becoming even slower with other type of the lenses. It's very hard to work with this camera, compare to any a5x , a7x, a99.

The first shot with two girls I got in the focus only on third time, it's terrible autofocus system in a7r.

Plus of the a7r:
Super for a slow work like a landscape photography. Really high resolution camera.
Very low noise, resolution can be use at ISO 6400 very good.
Probably a good camera for a studio work.

And it's only my opinion about this camera. :) :) :)
PS. Sorry for my broken english. :)

Valery,
Thank you. Your views came across perfectly clear. :)
I was tempted by A7R just for the sheer pixels and decided
I may be better off buying some good lenses instead. Though
did not buy any yet.
Now for the second the question, I mean the one Andy asked,
What's with pointy head gear in the first one? :D
