Thanks Sury and Birma, yes they are wasps but not dangerous unless you have some kind of reaction, some people do have that problem with insect stings but it’s rather rare I think. They don’t seem to be very aggressive at all, to humans anyway, but I wouldn’t like to bump the nest just the same.
There was another nest of a different type in the garden, larger ones with bright yellow stripes but they seemed to have moved.

Thank you Andy. Kenneth, here is my backyard. The left side of the image as you are looking
at it is in shadows and has rose bushes. I do have few flowers to pick but none of the meadows
the gents across the pond get to shoot. Oh, well, you shoot what you get.

Interesting Sury, you can see the sort of slight softening from diffraction at f36 but it’s not as bad as people make out, maybe the overall effect is more to do with a bit less vibrancy in the colours perhaps and a bit less contrast.
I notice the tree in the backyard sort of centre right looks like a mango or a lychee but probably isn’t, and it looks like the mowing problem is sorted too, good one.

Thank you. Those two trees are Cherry trees. Where we live in California, Mango trees don't survive,
unfortunately. It gets too cold for them during winters. Those photos are straight from the camera and
probably could use some TLC in LR.

I might have gone heavy handed instead of TLC, but here it is using HSL panel on LR5 and pulling down on luminance slider.
I was reading on of the threads where it was mentioned that all reds other than pure red are out of gamut and
one way to recover blown reds is to use trick mentioned above.







You can see the details in this one as one expects at f36, macro mode shooting.

Thought I'd revive this thread with a couple of shots I took today of a bullet that has been fired and recovered. These were shot with the 16-80mm mounted backwards which makes aperture control a little challenging but not impossible as shown by the different dof between the first two shots.

Thanks Andy and Sury. I really need a ring flash. I have a hard time getting enough light because the lens is only a few millimeters away from the subject.
