shoulder straps
Is it just me or does it seem like Sony shoulder straps are becoming cheaper and cheaper and cheaper? By cheaper I'm speaking of the quality. My a100 had a beautiful supple soft strap. My a580 came with a webbing strap. My a77ii came with a webbing strap that is stiff. What gives Sony?
Re: shoulder straps
Why do you use them then? Neoprene straps are around 5-10 USD in ebay. I stocked a lot of them in different colors and change it regularly.

Re: shoulder straps
There's nothing wrong with doing that. I'm just wondering why the strap quality is dropping. You spend hundreds on a new body and get a $2 strap. They used to offer some nicer straps, but the last time I looked there aren't any neck/shoulder straps for dslr's listed on their website.
Re: shoulder straps
I guess what I'm saying is that it is kind of like buying a brand new Lincoln or Lexus and finding out it comes with gray plastic hub caps on cheap steel wheels.
Re: shoulder straps
I have several neoprene neck straps by OpTech and also a Black Rapid sling strap.
Agreed the Sony straps are flashy but poor quality.

All my Sony SLT gear gone. Still got my RX100 though.
Re: shoulder straps
ok I agree with you on that.
But as far as I can see its not a Sony issue. I see some other brands' users going out with pretty bad quality straps too (especially Nikon). I guess camera makers trying to save money in every possible way. I agree its not fair to buyer though.

Re: shoulder straps
I got a couple of old good quality konica Minolta Straps from Mr CAD (in London).
Re: shoulder straps
I totally Agee with The Hefay that the Sony straps have gone down in quality. The A100 strap was far superior to the A99 strap for example. I really like the old Minolta straps that DK can provide. Very comfortable material, with a handy MS card holder included. Great on my Nex 6.
I use a Black Rapid for my A99 with an Arca Swiss adapter on it to fit to my L plate. It stays on the tripod most of the time thought

Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
