I took these three images with two different cameras and three different ways.
This is Sony 50HX-V in a dark room (no external light) and close up with flash.
This one with A900 and 70-400 with HVL58 (shutter at 1/320 for no particular reason )
I was clearing a shelf and found that I have beam extender contraption for the flash and decided why not!!!
I was farther away and zoomed in, increased shutter to 1/1250 after trying 1/320 and finding the flash was too bright.
I invite all of you to post any images that do not fit into any category and you do not want to create a separate thread to post your shots just because..... you took them. Good enough reason for me.

They all are different. I really like the isolation of the flower in the first one.
Re: Just because...Open thread
First one for me too, because of black background - gives the best contrast with flower.

I like the first one too. I am also experimenting with my a6000 using "manual" with flash instead of "intelligent auto". One thing I discovered that I don't care for is that in relatively low light IA shoots the iso way up producing a grainy image.

Pitter, I found superior auto to work better than intelligent auto on my 50HX-V and Nex5.
You may want to try that setting, assuming we are talking the same language.

Here is one just because ...
2014 Tiddesley - Winter Wood 1 by Birm, on Flickr
This is meant to convey the feeling of the woods in winter. Everything is brown, and slightly ominous. This was made using Intentional Camera Movement (ICM).

Like all of these so far.
Andy, glad to see the 70-400G getting well used and not sitting in a cupboard.

Thank you Mike and Sury
Mike, I never go anywhere without the 70-400 . It is becoming one of my most used landscape lenses. It is a close run thing between it and the 28-75. I've had several sessions recently shooting from hill tops and it is great to have all of that reach to pick out details in the landscape.
Sury, I'll trying put a few words together, although I'm really just getting the hang of it myself - happy to share what I've found so far. One of my inspirations for this type of picture is a photographer called Susanna Euston - you can see her work, including many great abstract landscape and flower pictures, here http://www.susannaeustonphotography.com/featured.html.

Great shot Andy. It certainly conveys the mood of winter in the woods. Well done. I too, would like to hear some more about your technique. You've been producing better and better ICM shots.

Nice woody scene. I'd have liked to have taken that!
