Challenge #63: "Autumn/Fall Foliage" - 31/Oct.-03/Dec./2016 - Submissions
.
Hello and welcome to our new seasonal challenge!
Inspired by an article on Fall Foliage in The New York Times and loving the colours of what I have witnessed, I believe the forests and trees are on a fiery exuberance of beautiful and diverse display at the moment.
There is also a video embedded on the same page on the Foliage in Vermont which can also be viewed on YouTube. The video belongs to someone who took a neat shot at it. Probably taken with the help of a drone, I only linked to the video because I wanted you to enjoy and be inspired by the glorious colours of Vermont forests, not to increase the number of views of the video.
(The video " This is Vermont Foliage" belongs to and is edited by Matt Benedetto.)

Good luck and looking forward to your Fall Foliage photos should you like to participate in the challenge.

My first autumn foliage picture this year. I'm sure there are some more coming, but I thought I would get the ball rolling with this one.

Wonderful shot, Birma!
Fall is not coming to the Midwest this year. Today it's 70F/21C, but it does promise to get down to 55F/13C by Saturday. They're predicting the first frost Thanksgiving Night (Nov 24th).

Thank you for sharing and participating, Henry. And on a side note; this photo and Japan made me watch several Fall Foliage videos on YouTube today. Ancient Japanese arcitecture and Zen Gardens with formal landscaping against the unruly growth of decidious trees that embrace them have a timeless serene nature-born wisdom to it...or, so I felt. : )
In other words, if you have photos of such scenes, they would be more than welcome as well.

The little pools of water held in the 'palm' of the leaves are almost visible...and to catch that one drop of water before it parts with the tip of the leaf giving in to the gravity of Earth ? Good timing and attention to detail of the particular instance.bakubo wrote:Autumn leaves in the rain, Ogimachi, Shirakawa-go, Japan 2009 -- Sony A700

Yildiz, just to keep the ball rolling I will post a few more. I hope others will post too. Both of these are in Sapporo a couple of weeks ago.
