To be honest, I don't even like posting 1000 pixel images to the web, but I do it anyway since some people are using 1650/1920 these days, including myself.

I know that my images are pretty small nowadays with a long dimension of 640 pixels. Back in 1997 when I created my first website my photos had a long dimension of 500 pixels because lots and lots of people were using dial-up and 15" and 17" monitors were pretty typical. My current website is my fourth and in 2006 when I created it I decided to go to 640 pixels. I have thousands of photos on there now and it would be a pain in the butt to go back and reprocess all of them to a larger size such as 800 or 1000. Someday I should though. Just like Don though, I wouldn't go larger, I think.

I know what you mean about going back and reprocessing earlier poorly processed images. From time to time when I work up the motivation I go back and reprocess some of mine. Over time my skill has improved a bit and also what appeals to me changes. Some of my old photos really need a reworking. This is the reason that I don't bother, generally, to reprocess with layers, etc. and then save the full-size PSD file. I used to do that sometimes so that I wouldn't have to reprocess it later when I wanted a different size, but then I discovered that often a few years later when I went back to it I didn't like it so I would go back to the original and start over anyway. I generally just do a fairly quick pp, resize for the web, and save the small jpeg. If I need a bigger one later then I just go back to the original and start over.

We are flying to the mainland tonight and expect that it will be several months until we are back in Hawaii, maybe not until next year. We want to go on one or two long road trips (one or two months each) on the mainland and then probably later do some more foreign travel.

I keep on thinking i should go back and scan/edit a lot of my old film stuff and will hopefully get round to it one day but looking at the boxes and boxes of negatives (about 30 years worth)its one of those "tomorrow" jobs!

Took a stroll on Stensö (Either Rock Island or Sten's Island! )its a small cape which happens to be a nature reserve near where I live. Quite beautiful during the summer, not so beautiful now though.
I was there testing out my new GPS unit, thought I'd try and synch the GPS data to the pics as I have read on the internet. It works very well.

I spiffied up this one, emulating a cross processed film.

A bit of history:
Here is where Gustav Eriksson (later Gustav I King of Sweden) landed on the 31st of May 1520 when he came back from Lübeck. He visited Kalmar Castle which was still under siege from the Danish. Gustav later traveled up north where he sucessfully started a uprising against the Danish King Christian II (in Sweden often called Christian the Tyrant). Gustav Eriksson was elected Gustav I King of Sweden on 6 June 1523.

This is also where the Vikings would sail up 1000 years ago and drag their ships across the cape using logs to get into Kalmar strait.
