Re: Food & Drinks 2013
That looks like a very interesting chicken burger Yildiz, are they chicken crumbed or battered fillets cut into different shapes, triangle, square and round? Or have I got it wrong? Nicely photographed.
This is my more typical lunch sandwich, a lightly toasted crumpet bun with salad (I don't mind beetroot too) and some kind of meat, thin sliced ham or chicken.
Greg
Ps excuse the teapot spots, the tablecloth needs to go in the wash.

Good morning, Greg. : ) (early morning here)Greg Beetham wrote:That looks like a very interesting chicken burger Yildiz, are they chicken crumbed or battered fillets cut into different shapes, triangle, square and round? Or have I got it wrong? Nicely photographed.
Thanks for the nice thoughts. Yes the shapes are exactly as you say, I can get bored with the usual shape of things sometimes.
Both fillents and ground chicken fillets were used. I've beaten the fillets into thin layers and the triangles were made using the ground fillets which I flattened by rolling a glass like a pin. Then into the batter they went.
Good one there. The colours are great, especially the beetroot. : ) Crumpet bun looks good too. The ones here are too sweet for my taste. Nevermind about any stains or such.Greg Beetham wrote:This is my more typical lunch sandwich, a lightly toasted crumpet bun with salad (I don't mind beetroot too) and some kind of meat, thin sliced ham or chicken.

Thanks for sharing,

Greg, your crumpet looks like what we'd call a (English) muffin. We had to start adding 'English' as the Americans have a cake they call a muffin. Our crumpets are completely different. Funny how we've used the same words for similar items

However, this raises a whole new issue; the Union flag on the bag is the British flag for the United Kingdom of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. If they want to use the English flag then they should use the St. George's cross (red on a white field). I hope you will be sending a strongly worded letter to Tip Top ?

And quite correct Birma; although I don’t like our chances of getting them to change the presentation no matter what I say, and there would be lots of people who wouldn’t know the English flag on the packaging even if it was correctly put there, they’d think Tip Top had lost the plot. (you can’t win arguing with marketing and people’s entrenched perceptions)
I wonder if one day Scotland does manage to go it alone what will happen to the flag. Will the Union flag have to be redesigned? I’d say it would and that would be a shame, and what about the Australian flag with the Union flag in the top corner? It might have to be redesigned then also.

You're right Greg - it will be just one of the many, many things that will have to be sorted out. The politicians and civil servants will be rubbing there hands in glee - lots of extra work for them and no benefit to us, I'd say.

Rice with shredded turkey fillets, turmeric for the yellow colour, raisins and chopped dried fig to sweeten the flavour and sauteed mushrooms. Pretty delicious if you like mild sweet and salty blended in your dinner.

Lovely picture Yildiz. It has that freshly cooked look and has me drooling at the screen! I'll bag a seat at that long table please (but can I have mine without the Turkey?).

Re: Food & Drinks 2013
I have been enjoying the posts albeit painfully due to limited bandwidth.
I am on holiday till Saturday on Garden Isle of Kauai with family. Probably
the last one in a while with the family, what with the little one off to University
end of this month. Will catch up upon return.
