A week or two ago in the Honolulu newspaper there was a story and a photo about surfers on one of the North American Great Lakes in winter. They were wearing thick wetsuits, hoods, gloves, and boots. It said they smear Vaseline on their face (the only exposed skin) to keep it from freezing. The photo was a guy with his surfboard heading into the water and there was ice and snow all around. Sure looked cold.David Kilpatrick wrote:Henry wins. People versus icicles, people win.
All we have on our beaches here in Scotland is a load of wetsuited masochist surfers trying to beat the North Sea at -1C (river frozen, sea still liquid, human being just plain nuts!).
