3. I'm going off topic again, but still around high ISO, as the new Canon Mark IV also has ISO 102,400. Can anyone explain (in simple terms) why this has suddently become the new "standard"?

Higher ISO equivalents is one of the big cheats that digital mediums have over film. If you want to stop down for sharpness and still shoot at 1/1000th of a second for that bird in flight, charging linebacker, or C-130 in the setting sun, what else are you going to do? Miss the shot?
