well, the flower is probably not a poppie (I didn't get biology at school) but I thought the pic have a small place in this thread.

I like the Californian poppy Sury - we have some in our garden. In the UK we tend to think of poppies as always being red; it is the common colour of wild poppies, and it is also the symbol of Rememberance for those who died during wars, especially those since WWI, due to the red poppy being the first (only?) thing to flower in the land devastated by the battles of WWI in NW Europe.

Pako - I think that is Clover in your picture - very popular with bees so well done for the authorities in NY for not cutting the grass too often .
