Great gallery Henry, especially considering how crowded it looks and that you must have spent so much time in the water. By contrast the surfer / water sport 'uniform' in the UK appears to be a black wet suit - it loses some of the colour and spectacle compared to your pictures :D.

Yes, in northern California, Santa Cruz, etc., the surfers wear black wetsuits. The water is cold there, even in the summer. We were in Santa Cruz in May and the water sure did not look inviting to me, but lots of surfers in the water. It is so different here.
