And your batteries will do 850 shots per charge on the A900, compared to 750 on the A700. How they did that with two processors and huge files, is anyone's guess - but they made the entire camera 20% lighter internally than the A700, it only weighs 850g overall with weathersealed mag alloy body - splashproof gaskets on every button...

Not sure how they squeezed the batteries more thoroughly, but the weight could be due to more extensive use of magnesium alloy.

Anyway, sure, I could put all this on the Visa...and be condemned to a lifetime of debt and loath the camera for it every time I look through the viewfinder.

@ Doc: I had gotten the word that the CZ 16-35mm f/2.8 would be going for US$1799.95 ... yeah, another board ... but, right on, usually.

None-the-less ... this is a heck of a outlay in cash for a camera, compared to what we have previously be privy to.

@ David: Here's a thought ... with your final response, could you possibly shoot them an A900 "kit" idea , where they combine the ala carte menu items into a kit containing the two batteries, the VG, the new flash with the A900 body for, say $3500 ?

I'm sure it would sell like wildfire, in the face of the "alternative" and then, my friend, I WILL BITE! Otherwise, I am afraid it is going to be a long wait for the money, this year. We all have our limitations ... and mine is dress-wearing budget watcher.
