Yep, that is so right. When I get back from a trip I copy all my cards to the computer and sift through the photos for the first time. I usually get a sinking feeling. Then a few days later I go through them again and start seeing good ones. Then I get to work.

Same here. I have been working on Bali photos from our recent month there. Then I started looking at my Bali photos from 2013 and realized that my use of LR then was not as good as it is now. So, this morning I am going back and working a bit on some of the old Bali photos too!
After my last post, where I mentioned about going back to older files and looking them again, I did just that. Here are a couple re-processed from 2013.
Not strictly in the meadow, but just close by. When the summer heat gets too much what could be better than the cool shade by a babbling brook? I don't have the audio to prove it, so you'll have to take my word for it that this brook really does babble .
The misty shot is exceptionally standing out, Birma. Neat time of day to catch the first glories of what the Sun and moisture in the air do; a fairyland feel prevails. : )
Andy, how do you find the 24-70 ? There are lots of controversial opinions on the net.
I mean for "tranquil", "non-wide-open", "non-bokeh madness" shots?
