What would be the next logical innovation for Sony DSLRs?

Is there anyone here worrying about the financial status about Sony?
Repeatedly heard from my friends using Nikon/Canon discouraging me for further investment....

Sony has 180,500 employees. Canon has 23,429 employees. Nikon has 25,342 employees. I got that from info from each company's website. Sony has announced a layoff. Canon has announced a layoff. Nikon has announced a layoff. Over the next year or so we will see how things develop, but 16,000 from 180,500 is not a huge percentage. Who knows? It might be that your friends using Nikon/Canon should be worrying.

Sony has an advantage over the other makers because they are the leader in pro video. Canon only makes prosumer camcorders; Nikon makes none. With fusion of these technologies, and with Sony's advantage of sensor development ledership, Sony will stay in DSLR's because they will be able to lead the field in the future, at least technologically. They see big future money in it; that is the bottom line. Sony is a larger CMOS maker than Canon and is the world's biggest CCD manufacturer. They were able to develop camcorder CMOS years ahead of Canon.

Video, lv, ISO and allot more. To be honest I thought the A 700 would have had a gps in.

What I would like to see, is all of those promised lenses to come to light. I am sure the new alpha 700 will be advanced in every aspect.
Hopefully a better sealed body, which are made for the bush. Saphire glass on the screen, to prevent scratching. Can't wait to see what Sony will deliver!
