I will say that my A100 did develop a similar issue. Lenses work, but if I torque them at the base (there is a tiny, tiny amount of play), the camera will sometimes complain that the lens is not attached. Turning the lens back the other way does no good. I need to remove and reseat the lens, or turn the camera off and on. This only typically is a problem with one lens that has a stiff zoom; with most of my lenses, I never notice the problem, as the mount doesn't twist. (But if you grab at the base, you can cause the problem...)

The pins seem springy enough and they certainly work when not torqued. I have tried tightening the screws, but I'm afraid of stressing things. I think I just have to live with it. Weird, though, that I didn't have this problem at first.....

That last problem sounds more like a contact problem associated with the lens release button, it also has a contact to signal the camera body about lens seating status. There is a very small margin for error between the position of the contact pins and the position in which the release button locks the lens in, if there is a missalignment in that area (loose contact pin body block, or it's slightly missaligned, or the release button does not work correctly with a given lens for some reason), then there most likely will be erratic behavour by the camera body. All that should easily be able to be checked by a competent repair facility.
