These are really 'classic' of the Yellowstone NP.
The desaturated feel doesn't bother me in the least. The snowy environment and the overcast skies look very natural.

I am sure you had a great time at Yellowstone NP. You got some great photos. I wish we could go again this year.

My wife and I were at Yellowstone NP and Grand Tetons NP in the spring 2009. It wasn't our first time there, but it was a good trip. We drove up into Yellowstone from Grand Tetons using the south entrance the first day it was open for the year. Much of the way there was a sheer, vertical wall of snow on both sides that was anywhere from 2 to 4 meters tall. A cool drive. I am still kicking myself that I didn't stop and take photos of the some of that long section that went on for miles with tall walls of snow. Generally there was no place to pull off the road, but there were almost no cars so I could have just stopped in the road, but I just didn't think of it at the time. It wasn't until we had passed all the really high walls of snow that we stopped. Here is just a photo with a digicam, but the walls of snow aren't impressive like they were earlier. Also, the road is wider here.

Funny, it snowed almost the entire time we were there and there weren't any walls of snow at all!

For those walls of snow it isn't so important whether it is snowing at the current time, but whether it snowed a lot throughout the winter months. It didn't snow at all when we were there in mid-May 2009, but it had snowed a lot over extended periods before. The Yellowstone NP south entrance is closed all winter and the road is completely snowed in. They open it up each spring, generally sometime in May, when they have cleared the road.

We were there in '75, and there was enough snow to build a snowman on July 5th or 6th, and have a snowball fight!

Most of the park was closed to us due to the heavy seasonal snow build-up in the early Spring. We drove from Yellowstone to Canyon, discovered it closed, and I shot this video of my wife and brother playing in the snow:
