Some Bugs :)

Unread post by Matt_Atkinson »

First time I've posted any of my photos here, so be kind, constructive criticism welcome :)
I'm loving the 100mm Macro, incredible lens - this is my second prime after the 50mm f1.4 and I'm really getting into them! 18-200 shots were from before I got the Macro, but it doesn't do too badly, I've taken lots of bees with it. The low DOF on the snail was deliberate, I just wanted the eyes in focus

Great shots Matt. I love all 3 shots.
As they say: focus on the eyes, and that's exactly what you did in #3

Hi Matt - I like #1 and #3 best. I like the composition of the bee buzzing off in to the distance, leaving the (lavendar?) blooms behind. The Snail "eyes" are spooky, but I like the picture none the less.

That slug is one of the most unique macro shots I've seen lately! I love it, though it's making me want to spring for a macro lens, and I just can't afford it right now. The bee on approach is pretty nice, too.

Thanks for the kind comments guys :)

I'm thinking of getting the snail printed big for my wall, but my girlfriend is freaked out by it lol
