Both are very good photos indeed. Somehow I never can get my feathered neighbours-the seagull parents and the babies- right in one frame or in the right time frame. Either they are all over the roof doing their own thing or the babies demonstrate their flying skills when they see me shooting some slowly-passing ship in the balcony which actually means that the camera is set to a slow shutter speed and the babies all come out as hilarious ghosts.
Though a great catch, but I think it's much sharpened in PP (first time criticizing your shot , hope you'll excuse me).
The second is great. (lowering the tension )
I like the "MIF" - great capture. I prefer the second shot - it seems a bit smoother/cleaner? Nice overall Mallard colours in the background and reflection.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
That combination of absolutely sharp body plus motion blur on the wings definitely works. Excellent craftsmanship + good eye = keeper!
Astonishing for me is the richness of visible detail even without any additional sharpening.
