Here's one taken down the road from the Foxwood Casino in Connecticut earlier this year out the window of a car because the people I was with were more interested in getting to the Casino than stopping for a photo. To be fair, it was -30C at the time so I was pretty OK with taking it from the car too! And to truly stay with the four corners theme (albeit extending it from the four corners of the States to the four corners of the planet - well two of them at least), the second picture is the closest thing to a barn you can get without it actually being a barn. It was taken in Cowaramup here in Western Australia (the locals call the place Cow Town with good reason. on closer inspection the cows on the farm lived inside this house though none were in residence at the time I was there with my camera). As a footnote to these, they were taken about a couple of weeks apart, the Cowaramup one first, before I left for the States. It was about 40C at the time so you can maybe understand more why I wasn't that interested in getting out of the car for the Connecticut one!!

It's funny how the 'industrial' buildings of agriculture somehow always look better than the industrial building of industry. A great set of photos Lonnie. The high grain store (middle one in your first post) is particularly sad when you think of the cost and effort involved in making the building, and the amount of grain or some other stored crop it would once have held. I guess that modern silos will have replaced it, but maybe not; it could be a relic with dustbowl land, or land which just proved too costly to farm.

Now how about some water towers? They're another favourite feature of the US landscape in particular.

Those barn shots are great! Henry would be interested in those I bet, (if he was around at the moment that is), I wonder who had the job of climbing that external ladder on the #2 silo/barn, must be sixty feet at least to the ground from the top of that ladder....
