Has anyone used both the A55 and GH1 and are able to comment on the performance of the AF systems for still photography and video? I would expect the A55 to be a significant improvement over any SLR that uses CDAF for video, but can it compete with the GH1, which was specifically designed to use CDAF for both stills and video, and by all accounts, offers superlative performance comparable to PDAF for stills and better than anything else for video?
My suspicion is that the A55 isn't as good as the GH1 for video AF, as the system requires the subject to be located under one of the PD AF points and move from one point to another in a relatively predictable fashion and doesn't have the advantage of much greater granularity of information that CDAF can use with which to track subjects.

See LuLa for todays update on A55
Re: A55 vs GH1 AF system for stills and video
witht the number of af sensors which covers most of the frame the PDAF should be able to follow in a similar fashion to CDAF only faster and more accurate. the shallow DOF is going to make it seem less effective maybe though
