Sometimes it works
There are times when I see a scene where I really, really want to capture a specific image that speaks to my personal version of that scene. Unfortunately, at my skill level, managing to accomplish that to my satisfaction when unposed people are involved is not the norm. Here are a couple of family snapshots that are the exception - the end result is very close to what I visualized and desired when I pressed the shutter.
The first photo is of my daughter-in-law and grandson looking out the window of my daughter's home, watching the family's German Shepherd in the back yard. My goal was to capture the light and their facial expressions at that moment.
The second image is of my daughter-in-law and grandson at a park playground. There was something that just appealed to me about the image of her on the playground horse and him watching her, instead of the reverse arrangement that is the norm.
With best wishes,

Re: Sometimes it works
I too like them both, but maybe, just maybe, a bit of tighter frame in the first shot... from the right and upper sides.
Re: Sometimes it works
I agree with Bakubo, 2 very nice shots.

Lovely shots, Tom. : )
Mother and child photos provide for very crative photography.
