Having moved to an A850 from the A700 and also having bought the newly released Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Di USD lens, this is one of a series taken at Liverpool airport. First time used 'in anger' as a pairing. What do I think of the lens? I'll take the 5th on that one, but pp'ing 24Mb FF files is a PITA and tends to crash my laptop a lot (cRAW files).

Lets just say that I wish I hadn't sold my Sigma 100-300/4 and Min 300/2.8.

Thx. It was the Southport airshow last Saturday and some of the 'faster stuff' were using Liverpool Airport. The Vulcan did a flyover.

Owned 70-300G (sold after a month) and 70-400G (returned to retailer), both of which were in a word 'rubbish'. 70-300G was soft over 200mm and 70-400G was just plain too slow. HSM/SSM kinda sucks. Raw screw drive torque is by far the best, though whilst I still have the Min AF 80-200mm f/2.8 APO, it's focal length is too short. The new Tammy can capture a nice image, though none on these can compare to a 300mm f/2.8 prime or Sigma 100-300/4.

I've been offered another Sig 100-300/4 and have found a minty looking Tamron 300/2.8, though I can't justify a third telephoto/zoom without selling at least one of my existing lenses first.
