Alaskans' sense of humor - please forgive the "french"

Check the population of this town? Village? Hamlet? Check the number of people living in this "city". The lady in the bus (a fellow passenger) is the one who wanted to be photographed hanging on to the pole in the second one. I do have her permission to publish the photos with her in them.

This is an actual highway sign. That sharp turn you see comes at the end of a steep incline and as soon as you make the turn you start climbing up again.
The truckers in the winter when the road is frozen solid, have to ensure enough speed coming down the slope to maintain the momentum to climb after negotiating the curve. I guess if they come down too fast, or too slow, I guess that's what they are thinking. Some one with a sense of humor in the roads department must have decided to let the world know what goes through these truck drivers' mind....

Yes it's funny...now, but I bet it's not so funny with a heavy truck and when the road is icy, but then I watched some of those insane trucking roads on TV where they have a truck fall off the totally insane road into a ravine every few days, so I guess Oh chit corner is pretty mundane by comparison.

Loose gravel, icy road, 90 degree unbanked turn at the bottom of a hill, no guard rail, big drop-off... sounds well named to me.

Not to mention the down hill just before you approach the bend. Imagine a 30,000+ lb truck barreling
down a hill on ice and has to make a sharp left at just the right speed so that it doesn't lose the momentum
to climb up the icy road. I shudder to think. I am so fascinated by the show Ice Road Truckers.
