the detailphoto`s , is piece off the normal picture

dr harout ask me , for some 100% crop-picture , i thought he means a small part off the picture
butt i ask my friend what he`s meaning
now i now...... al the photo`s , except the detail-picture`s are 100 % cropt photo`s

so i make them for the forum only smaller

when i take this picture`s , i make my sharppoint in the camera out off the middle , so the compositie is in one time good

That's OK, Gustav.
100% crop = a small part of the picture (up to 1024 pix on one side) without resizing.
Anyway, in the detailed shot I see a perfect sharpness and that's what I was expecting from that lens. Beautiful!

i like , that you ask me

when i take this picture`s at 2.8 , 3.2 or 4 the shutterspeed is going faster , so that is good

but the place that is sharp on the picture get smaller , so that means , that the kingfisher has a lot off on-sharpness

if you take this picture`s at two or three meter`s distance , the best depth of field is 5,6 or 6.3 ,
when you take 7.1 or 8 the possibility gets higher that you get restless background

the ideal ISO for the SONY A700 is 200

next sunday i go back to the kingfishers , hopefully with the sony 300 MM , i hire this lens
i hope that someday i have this lens for myself , it is a very great lens , i think the best 300MM THERE IS
only the price here in holland is to much , 5150 pound , in the UK he cost 3600 pound , why the difference
i now that the POUND is going down ( sorry ) but the different , between the price in the netherlands en the UK is to much ( almost 1700 POUNDS )

i think that sony must give everyone on this forum this lens , for making free advertisement

mathimatically speaking if you crop something by 100% you have ZERO left over......What would be a better term would be something like 90% crop.......maybe.

It's called a 100% crop because it is a crop that contains 100% of the pixels.

It's the photo at 100% magnification, cropped to a size that allows posting.

Really lovely shots Gustav. Even the branch / perch that the bird is sitting on is in beautiful detail. After I have finished enjoying the glorious plummage, I can then wonder at the moss and lichen. A great Christmas gift to us all at Photoclubalpha

I've only seen kingfishers twice in the wild, never close enough to take a usable photo, even with a 500mm lens I was still to far away to get any detail at all
