A Trip To Vietnam

Unread post by Ossie »

I have recently returned from a tour of Vietnam with a little bit of Cambodia tacked on the end. It was a highly enjoyable and enlightening experience. I have just started to go through my images and I hope you won’t mind if I share a few of them with you here.

Yes, last fall I was in Vietnam for a month. I had a thread about it here:

Very interesting, Ossie.

What exactly is that lady in the last batch making that looks like flat bread bread...far too transparent for one? Filo dough, perhaps?

Hi Yildiz

The woman is making rice paper. At most meals a type of spring roll was served that was wrapped in rice paper.

Making rice paper looks like something requiring great skill and patience, especially in that kitchen setting not overly endowed with amenities.

Rice paper! Sherbet flying saucers. The best thing ever to come from rice paper about from the bottoms of coconut macaroons...
