So very true Yildiz. I did not see the food offered covers their daily meal. So for now, they are safe from losing their hunting skills.

How does this look like? I tried a more "underexposed" value for conversion (atypical for me)
thinking of the sordid narratives I heard about the times and practices of the day. Not judging,
but an attempt at reflecting the state of mind of the inhabitants (slaves) at that time.

Thanks for taking a shot. I guess I should have connected those dots about who was using the kitchen. That said, I think you have gone too dark. Some of the iron pots are almost invisible. My request was based on what I thought was a good tonal range that would lend itself to B&W. It seems you took the low end of the range out of play. Just a thought.

Hey Sury, good effort. I keep scrolling back to the first image for comparison (which I believe has the best exposure of them all). Maybe just take a little off the top end and you have it. Of course, this is only my opinion.

Something like this? I am learning the art of seeing it through someone else's perspective and cross reference it with mine to evolve
my own. So I am not taking any offense to your input and it is a learning process for me. It does not mean I like the changes, it means
that someone else likes the changes and it is worth knowing it. I think the practice helps me with strengthening my relationships when there is a divergent view to pause and look at it from others perspective.

I think this is the best I could get out of the wood texture without destroying the image.
Look forward to doing things with friends here. I cherish you (and others) taking time to comment.

Hi Sury!
All good stuff! My favorite croc-shot is the one with the angle looking down where the area outlining its head is plain dark water. To me, the plainness of the water not only emphasizes the texture of the croc’s skin but also the importance of the subject. Love it!
I think that you hit the mark with the 3rd/last black and white conversion of the kitchen. It looks spot on… but that’s my own personal taste.

I never made it to Preservation Hall when I was in New Orleans, but it looks really cool! I can imagine from the atmosphere captured in your photos that it was a good time. I’ll have to check it out if I ever get back there.

If I can steal a line from Yildiz… thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your kind words. Much appreciated.
We were at a restaurant that was a house with big backyard in a residential
neighborhood. I can't recollect the name now. An evening out with life long
friends. Talk about feeling blessed.

The gent in the photo is my childhood friend of 45+years. His wife (next to him) and my wife came to US around the same
time in 1990 and they have been friends for 30 years.

And of course my friend, guide and philosopher and is literally my better half.
