Some street shooting in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Malaysia).

Went shooting on 29/11/2008 afternoon because there was a blackout in the office. Can't do any work, so decided to go out shooting instead. I call this stress relieve (ok, it was just an excuse, but works most of the time for me!). Basically these are random shots with no specific themes in mind. C&C are most welcome.

#3 On the left is Wisma Merdeka, and on the right is Hyatt Regency Kinabalu. 2 prominent buildings in Kota Kinabalu.


#4 This cute little toddler was running all over the place! (the parent is just behind her)


#5 Everyone waiting for the sunset....


#6 Sunset marks the return of some fishermen as well as the set out to sea for others...


I love the scenes in Kota Kinabalu.... I love Kota Kinabalu....

I have fought a tendency to make my " building portraits " look too much like Richard Avedons people portraits.

So I admit that while 1. made me smile, I really ,really liked 6. The flags make the shot for me, otherwise the shadows would have made the picture bottom heavy.

#2 is it for me - friendly observed, just so slightly mocking because their pose is without purpose - a pose.

springm & bakubo, Thanks guys. Glad you liked them. The couple were really very loving. I wonder if I can be like this with my partner / future wife when I am that age. The little girl was not easy to shoot, because, well, you know how active little toddlers are.... one moment they could be running in one direction, and the next moment, they could be lying flat on their face (just kidding).

I'm with the Doc I really like the little girl. even the unconventional running out of the frame composition seems perfect for the shot

Taking a picture of a little girl like that is almost like taking a picture of a kitten -- the subject is so cute, any picture you take would be good. In this case, however, the light is so nice that it's far better than just good. I think it's really a superb shot.

Dr. Harout, Javelin & jcoffin: Glad you liked the little girl's photo. Like I mentioned earlier, with it wasn't easy trying to shoot an active little kid that is on free roam... but I managed to get this shot. Happy I got it, and even happier that forum members like this shot. This encourages me to improve my shots. Thanks, guys.
