Any word on an mid level Full Frame Sony DSLR?

Unread post by destrianlives »

Anyone have any info on this? Maybe a March announcement to let something (in the 12mp range) out the bag September 2009 maybe? Or is Sony going cold turkey with the info leaks unlike they did with the A900? Or are they gonna break new ground by making the most affordable Full Frame system to the market at a square $1800 US dollars?

The A900 is the mid level full frame affordable body.

1800 isn't happening anytime soon. Maybe as the A900 gets very old and has close out prices.

Lower MP count doesn't reduce price. Price is driven by the size of the sensor.

The next stuff to come will be A700 replacement (APS), something blow the A700 replacement (Nikon D90 like), probably a re-tweaked A700 with new name (A500). And at some point Sony pro bodies. But those could be a bit out these days.

Eh, the wish-list comes around every month or so, but no rumors. Here's our last go-round: http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/vie ... f=1&t=1166

The company that brings FF to new affordable levels, is the one that will dominate the FF format.
Should be an interesting battle..when it happens.

Don't expect APS-C size model above A700, but rather FF model below A900. It will be A800.
