Camera pouch CS DG-8 for A200/3n0

Unread post by ianmiddy »

Just wanted to say thanks to DK for continuing to offer the "old" Minolta stock from the shut-down - just got another CS DG-8 to use with my new A350 [alongside the one for the 5D] - great little cases if you tend to keep one of the smaller primes on your body...

...and to highlight that the newer bodies will still fit inside [obviously not the A900 - suspect the A700 is too big also] - even with the LiveView screen poking out the back, and mine still fits ok with the LH3AM hard-protector on as well.

[Unfortunately, my A100 in its CameraArmor is too big, but then thats what the armour's for !]

Cheers

Ian, I have never tried it. We also have CS-5 cases for the original Dynax 5. I thought they were too small for any of the new digital models. Will the CS DG-8 easily fit a spare battery in its battery pouch when used with your gear?

All we have left really now are the CS DG-1000 Z-series digicam case which is a perfect case for the 11-18mm, 17-35mm, 100-300mm and any smaller lenses, and also for the 3600 and 5600 flashguns; the CS DG-8 for 7/A bridge cam series; the CS-5 for the 5; and a case made for the G400-600 etc series, which is brilliant for iPod, mobile phone etc. Both Shirley and I use these leather cases for our mobiles, I have one on my belt all the time and it's much better than the special cases for the phone.

I have the CS-5 for the 5, and it'll fit in with the 24-105 on it with the hood reversed [not getting rid of my copy just yet, as no A900 in the near future for me, lol] - but you're right, too tight a squeeze for the digitals - although I'd guess the Oly 420 or the smaller Pentax's would fit [but guess most wouldn't want the Minolta name, although it is very discrete].

I've tried the 5D with a spare NP400 in the DG-8 pouch - ok with the 28/2.8 or 24/2.8, not sure about the 50's - but I don't usually put one in as I worry about it pressing against the 4-way controller too much - but out of interest, will the NP400s or Sony batteries fit [x2 ?] in the G400 case you mentioned, or are they too fat ?

Also have one of the DG-1000 cases that does double duty for the 17-35 & 3600 - they don't tend to be used much together, so one does the job...

...as with the cameras - it seems Minolta put quite a bit of thought into the their case/bag design - I use the MB-1s a lot of the time [although a LowePro backpack is favoured for country walks or chancy weather] for different 'kits' for the 5D/7D & 600si and continue to be surprised just how much I can fit into them - and having just got a Netbook, I can finally use my KMB-1 to its 'full' potential, as my old laptop was too big to fit...

Once again - can thoroughly recommend these cases to anyone who, old-fashioned like me, still likes an 'ever-ready' case for their cams !

Cheers

the G600 type cases are a perfect fit for two Sony or KM type NP400/NP-FM500H/50H cells.
