CIPA Forecast

Unread post by mdcromer »

Someone in Japan is dreaming. Sounds like a NAR forecast of housing market activity!

We've just entered Great Depression 2.

My prediction: 35% YOY drop in 2009, followed by another 25% drop each of the next 2 years.

Yes, it does look a bit optimistic. However, -35% and -25% general global slump would do more than see us in a depression, it would trigger first a series of minor wars and ultimately a global war, or at least a superpower war. We could survive those figures if they applied only to Sony :-)

The way they're printing money over here, I don't doubt that someone who holds a lot of our financial instruments may want to start a war with us. I've always feared the coming war with China, and we may be seeing it before too long.

An a700, an a550 and couple of a580s, plus even more lenses (Zeiss included!).

Well Bill Gates has predicted 4 years of gloom!

Anyway, I suspect those figures are optimistic..by some margin.
Some sectors may hold up ok, others may not..across the board I would expect reduced demand for cameras.
Even budget ones..people will not bother "upgrading" as often..
