Charlies Garden

This sandstone tower in the middle of Collywell bay near Seaton Sluice is known as Charlies Garden (reportedly due to it previously having a garden on the top) -many years ago before much erosion took place.

It still makes a fine subject at sunrise - taken this morning, A700, KM 17-35, Cokin P ND grad + polariser. I only got a few reasonable sharp frames as the wind was something else - holding onto the tripood with it set low for stability there was still some movement insome frames - goodness knows what the guy further along the bay got with his P&S held at arms length!

Incidently St Mary's lighthouse (that i've posted recently) is just around the headland to the right of the first picture

Paul, I hear from Duncan McEwan that you will be showing your work at the Edinburgh open day on March 22. Great!

You will end with the Scots invading Northumberland again. I hope not too many people see your pix and head for the great north east coast thinking it might one day be warm

Thanks guys, I was pleased to be asked to show some work at the next meeting (I'll have to stop posting so I've got some things that people haven't seen )

Many happy returns Dusty - I only just realised there is a birthday counter at the bottom of the index page (it was mine a couple of weeks ago)

It will be good to meet some of the posters in Edinburgh.

Here's another couple from today (this afternoon) - I went back down to Charlies Garden as it looked like we may get the pastel sunset colours again, but grey clouds gathered and the colour never materialised - so as the images were fairly monochromatic to start with, I went for some high contrast BW versions, hope you like them.
