Man these are miserable creatures when there this big. The little ones are curious and more tolerant. he swam up on me when I was exploring the flooded edge of a river, he had an annoying piece of grass on his face. I tried to agitate him to go back into the water to wash it off but he kept charging me instead and wouldn't leave the water completely. normally they pat the water with their tails to make splashes but this one only did it once. He prefered to watch me and periodically try to chase me away.
Aaargh! That grass may be annoying to you and I, but it sure isn't bothering him any...did he really charge you? It may have been a she, protecting her kits, but beavers mate for life, so it might have been the papa as well. Good shots, by the way. I like the reflection in the last one.
Might be a female I suppose. Yyes he/she charged. but they arenlt exactly greyhoudes would be neat to get him slapping the water with his tail but I missed it the only time he did it. Theres a lot of beaver around so maybe i'll get another chance.. in better light even.
Very interesting shots Javelin - I agree that piece of grass is really annoying
I like the third shot the best. The beaver itself still looks a bit flat in the shot, perhaps in comparison to the nice reflection? So I guess you have lost your snow now in Canada?
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Thanks Birma, Yes what started out as a very aggressive record breaking year for snow has actually been pretty dreary and brown since the beginning of February. Yesterday though, .. we got snowed in. so it seems we had a setback in our spring progress. hopefully this was winters last gasp though. I was so glad to find some colour on the weekend and now it's all buried in heavy wet snow.
