A couple from the Harbour

Not at work today so I was up early and hoping for a good sunrise but it was grey and dull, so I wandered around the marina at Blyth and thought you might like to see a couple

This is the marina, with the old (fishing and industrial cranes etc) and the new (pleasure boats)



An abandoned Fishing boat - there was a notice stating it will be sold to recover debts



This is what I was looking for (this sunrise is from a couple of weeks ago) we have had a couple of amazing mornings recently but I've only been able to watch them on the way to work

Love the shot of the old tub - looks like it has had a hard working like and is now in need of some tlc, or perhaps the scarp yard? Great colours on the rusty underside.

The sunrise is, of course, wonderful . Beautiful colours and great relfections in the sand in the foreground. It does seem to be a fact of life that the best light happens while we're at work

It is very flat and grey here in the west midlands today, but perhaps the greens of new leaves will look good.

Your photos should be prescribed to sooth the nerves and cleanse the ears of horrible city traffic noise.

Just came in from roaring streets and 'beeeep, beeeeeping' horns of the city life and these photos are like a holiday for the eyes...

Nice scenery in the first, memorables in the second and the joy of Earthly life in th third.

I feel better now. Thank you for the visual medication!

Personally, I wouldn't loose the opportunity to take some macro shots of all the rust underneath the abandoned fishing boat.

I really like the old boat. It looks like a great subject for lots of pictures. The rich blue paint and rust, both with lots of texture, are intriguing. A couple of ideas that come to mind would be to shoot the stern of the boat straight on and see if you could crop just the name and the little door so it wasn't obvious it was a boat. The prop would make a great subject too.

Wow, lovely colors in this series! The first is good, but could be a lot better if just the group of boats on the left were isolated. IMO there's just not enough of interest on the right side to justify the space. It looks like there's room for a crop, though. The second looks great, if cropped a little close on the left. It's an attractive portrait of a curious old boat...it may be wooden and run-down, but somebody was probabbly very proud of it, judging by its name. The third is just amazing. Great colors and detail. Love it!
