Finally got around to work on the few pics I got at this years Air Show, it was very wet/windy/rainy not the best conditions for taking photos, these are the best of a bad bunch.
Look every one it's a 380
Storm front moving, We where about to get the first real down poor in over 12 months.
Very interesting shots Steve. I like the storms clouds gathering in the distance - very atmospheric . Glad that you are getting some rain there at last.
I like the military jet shots best, but as you say it is a pity about the sky/background not providing much of a contrast. As a small boy I spent many hours drawing Tornadoes (the aircraft!) with afterburners lit soaring through the sky and so I like the last of the F18 shots the best. The second F16 shot is a great angle, with a view in to the canopy, and the contrast between the upper and lower halves of the plane. I find the tilted ground based shots a little disturbing, but perhaps that's just me
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Some very good plane shots there, planes are tough too do well, that Airbus super jumbo is impressive, I haven't seen one in the flesh yet, and the super constellation was a restoration project and a half, it took years, with lots of people both here and in the US contributing, the result is a credit to them.

The Super Constellation shot is my favourite too. That dark sky makes an excellent background and gives an appealing color combination. Of course it would have been nice to get it at another angle with better separation of wings and tail, but at a show you have to take what you can get.
Winston wrote:Love the Connie shots!. Have I seen the first one before?
I remember marvelling at them as a kid. Never did get a ride on one.
Yes, Winston, you saw these pictures when they the topic began on May 10th. And I have to agree with you about the Connie, that is one beautiful airplane!
