Old, derelict buildings

Knowing my luck I'd probably fall through the floor or something such and break my neck...however on the other hand...if what you say is true, that girlz like to sneak into old decrepit buildings...hmmm that's something I didn't know before
What makes me think the future is bleak for that particular building is, there is a large shipping container beside it, if you have a look at the photo, look down on the lower right, the end of it (green colour) is just visible, that's why I took the photo from the angle I did, and had too put up with that rotten parking sign being in the way.
I'd guess that all the furnishings and whatever etc. from inside, have been taken out and placed in the shipping container.....

That reminds me, I used to do photo shoots with friends when I was in college and we would often, um, sneak in to the the derelict buildings around Marshall Texas. This was more or less how I charmed my wife the first time we met.

It sounds a bit like a script from Buffy (the Vampire Slayer) - I think you will have to tell us a bit more Kevin, within the bounds of good taste obviously .

Well, I'm searching for the pictures, but I shot most of them pre-digital. There are plenty of older buildings in and around Marshall, Texas, and these are popular tourist attractions for the area. Often the college students there would tour the abandonned ones, whether disused warehouses in downtown or tumbledown barns outside of the city. I'd take friends to some of the more obscure ones, some needing more creative entry than others, and we'd take pictures with the unique environments.

When I later met my wife, it was in the same town. She was going to the school that I had just left, and I was showing her all the sights that I had used to see. We had our first kiss in a big abandonned barn outside of town just off of a little-used country road--first date, no less!

I'm not too sure if this qualifies but anyone driving north on the A1 (Great North Road) will have been familiar with this over the past few years.
It is situated just before the A47/A1 junction and I decided to stop and shoot a few frames a few months ago. Low and behold it has now suddenly started to be cleaned up and either restored or demolished so I'm glad I got it when I did.

House on the hill. Bet kids are scared of it now. It's pretty big for a farm house in this area for the time (~1870) You can be sure lots of kids played in front of it once.

I learned a long time ago while traveling out in the West to fill up the tank almost every chance you get, especially when off the big highways. Sometimes it is a long time until the next chance.

The mention of this thread yesterday, and then seeing this building, seemed to suggest it was dragged to the top again.

I think you're right Doc - there was at least one more along the dunes here. There are things like this dotted all around the UK coast still, and they always seem to be of different designs - design must have been a localised responsibility.
