Rare Raptors

I have just had a fantastic Sunday with Chris Weston (photo journalist and author of 20 odd photography books) on one of his fabulous workshops at the English School of Falconry in Bedfordshire.

Very nice. Sony here is offering a trip to a bird of prey sanctuary for a photo op. they are selling access to the session on their site but the checkout isn't working properly. So I ddn't bother with it. now I really want to go

Nice going Brian, sharp photos, birds of prey make great subjects,
I was wondering..that English School of Falconry, is that a separate organization that anyone can visit, or is it owned by Chris Weston, and part of a photography workshop/course on occasion. If it was open too the public it would make a great photographic venu for locals there.

Nothing to do with Chris, in fact he runs workshops all over the world, but he is obviously very well known there. If you click on my blog link my latest entry tells all and I have included a link to the School website at the end of the blog.
Indeed I went back there today and adopted a one week old baby Tawny Owl (called Beans) for my wife's big 50th later this month.

I only had my mobile phone with me hence the dreadful quality but you have to say ahhhhhhh!

Oh, and the last photo is of an eagle. It was, believe it or not, a baby bald eagle and Sunday was his first day in front of the camera.

Hi bonneville,

Beautiful and intriguing. I enjoyed each photo; good colours and lovely feather details. The baby owl looks very 'ahhhhhhh-cuddly' too!
