Roses are red, violets are........not showing up yet !

Hi,

The climbing roses and the rest are in full blossom at the moment and these are a couple of them shot last week...
All shot with the Tamron 90mm F/2.8.

Here is a wildflower from the Hebridean Isle of Harris, taken last week. I believe it is a "Bog Bean", which is a rather uninspiring name for what I think is a spectacular bloom. I was surpised to come across them growing in such profusion.

Yet again, many interesting blossoms from around the world!

Birma, that one sure is very intriguing. The filaments gave these white blossoms a wonderful aura. It's even possible to liken them to veils.

Not as spectacular and unusual as the Bog Bean but here is a clump of Thrift. It grows in profusion all around the UK coast (I think) and it is starting to look its best. The PPing is an attempt to give a "painterly glow" to the scene rather than a razor sharp study. It is just something that I am trying at the moment.

I really like that bog bean blossom, it deserves a much more ostentatious name than 'bog bean' for sure.
That thrift experiment failed...for me anyway, too washed out for my taste, now I'm hanging out to see a normal version, just too see how good that would be, looks like a really nice flower shrub.

Those wild flowers look nice in the other thread on Isle of Harris. Maybe all they need is a little contrast...

I photographed the other ice plant which has larger blossoms this time...They look very nice for a couple of days.
