I found out that this type is called fan-throated lizard-Sitana ponticeriana in Latin. It's known to be endemic to India and such lands but surprisingly you must have shot these photos in N. America.

Thank you. Yes, these were taken in Florida -- I'm afraid I've never (yet) visited India. Frankly, I was quite surprised at the sheer number of lizards I saw there, especially since I'd always assumed they were most common in more desert-like areas. I'm pretty sure I saw a number of different lizards with the throat pouch (though they do move
very quickly, so I s'pose I might have seen the same one more than once).

Yup -- from the way they move, I decided the just levitate, and their connection to the ground, fence, or anything else was mostly accidental!
