macro filters

Unread post by henniebez »

I am struggeling with macro filters. It does bring the insect closer, but the sharpness is fading. What can I do to improve it? I have the Kenko filters.

Hope you will excuse me jumping in to this thread, but here is a macro filter shot I took yesterday with the 50 1.7 and 2 x CL49-200s (I got these filters after previous discussions and Sonolta's examples here).

Image
ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/80 sec, +1.0 exp, quick PP in E7.

I am pleased with the bokeh but perhaps I have left the dof is too thin in this example? I guess it is a judgement you have to make to balance the two.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

My problem is not big enough F stop. I havent had time to play with filter. But at least I got my first good shot with the 100mm macro.
