Michael Jackson

Unread post by bfitzgerald »

We have to have a MJ thread here.

Not wishing to get too much into things, my impressions of MJ are that of a lonely and somewhat sad/mixed up person..but also of a great entertainer and performer.
Somewhat of a classic pop star scenario..the battles with press, himself..and unfortunate death. we have seen this more than a few times before. He did have a wonderful way of connecting with his fans and viewers..and I honestly think he was only "really happy" when he was singing and dancing.

They say you do what you love, and very well, I think this is a good example. I have enjoyed listening to his music over the years, and of course his videos. And with the extensive coverage and playing of his music/videos on MTV and other channels, I had a nice trip down memory lane.

I think Michael Jackson was a complicated and complex personality. Regardless of his short comings, we all have our own, his contributions to the music industry are simply phenomenal.

Apparently, according too his close circle of friends, (heard an interview on the radio at work) he had developed some sort of stage fright recently, and his prescription drug cocktail had gotten worse, and it didn't matter what anyone said...the autopsy revealed that his stomach contained only pills...ye gads who'd want too be famous and try and live up to everyones expectations, pestered by creditors, advisors, managers, followed by whackos, reporters and paparazzi everywhere you go...no thanks, it's no wonder they stress out eventually.
But OTOH where would we be without them, the world would be a much poorer place without the unique and inspirational music of Jacko, the big O, Elvis...just too mention a few.
