Saturday Airshow

Unread post by harvey »

Here are some shots from a local Airshow a few days ago.
This is my first attempt at Airshow photography with a DSLR.
Kit was A900, Minolta 200mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x Teleplus MC7 DG

Image
ISO200 1/320s f/16

Image
ISO200 1/1000s f/6.5

ISO320 1/1000s f/8

I did not correct the vignetting just so you can see it.

I was surprised that the less sharp images (not these) were not directly related to shutter speed. I think I missed the focus or f/6.5-f/9 is not so good with this lens/converter combination.

Nice one Harvey lovely to see Vulcan XH558 flying, it is still touch and go if she will be in the air next year due to financial constraints

Nice shots Harvey. It must be something about growing up in the UK in the 70s & 80s but the Vulcan bomber is still a favourite of mine. Any more shots of it?
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

I don't recall any flypasts showing a top wing view but here is another shot

The Airshow was at my local ex-WW2 Airfield at East Fortune. It has a static display of a Vulcan and if I recall correctly there was a time when you could climb up and look inside.

Also here is a shot of a different plane that might appeal to people from across the atlantic.

The Vulcan is WAY cooler. :D We don't get to see those here in Texas! B52s out the wazoo! Great photos though!!
If the last thing you remember hearing is somebody yelling 'CLEAR!!!', assume you've had a problem!!
a77, a700, a200, Minolta 8000i, NEX C3, NEX 5N and more lenses than my wife suspects!

We get to see lots of C130s flying around in my neck of the woods, though I haven't got a long enough lens to shoot any of them.
