Coppermine Problems

Unread post by dewarp »

Hi David

For the last couple of weeks Coppermine has not been working correctly. The history has gone back to 2007. When one uploads new pics they seem to be accepted with the proviso that they will appear after they are approved by admin. This latter appears never to happen.

Please repair.

regards - Peter

I don't know if this is related, but some of us have also been having other image posting problems. I think it started a few weeks ago when there was an update to the forum software. See this thread I started recently:

Coppermine has always been a problem - it was originally installed with a Bridging system, which meant registration was one process for phpBB and the gallery. They broke this by failing to update the bridge when phpBB3 was released. I had to customise the code. Since then, all updates to Coppermine report errors, because of the custom code needed to make the bridge work. Also, there are dozens of other minor errors in the configuration.

I have reset the system, rebuilt the database, approved any images which were waiting, and turned off approval for members. I've also enabled a set of new features for language choice, and allowed the various views to display captions and comments automatically.

Hopefully it will work a bit better now.

Thanks David - I had another go.

I tried to log in, but was not recognised. I then re-registered using the identical ID and password as previously used. This was accepted and I received the email of confirmation.

I logged in and was able to upload a file, and deposit it into my gallery in the normal way.

However-

It seems that all previous images are now attributed to Mr. X. Thus I am not able to delete my previous images, although the ownership is sort of acknowledged.

If this cannot be rectified, please delete my earlier images on my behalf.

Have another look - the Bridging system had broken again. I have re-activated it and all the old users appeared again. Ten minutes ago it was just you and me :-)

You should be able to log in under the old login and access your old files, maybe deleted your new identity. I can not do anything to merge the two.

OK - it seems to work again. Thanks.

The last image loaded (Testing 2) now belongs to you, so I am not able to delete it. Please do so.
