I think ranks should be according to the member (that's a bit hard for the admins, but anyway), or as the other members may see or feel.

Rather than ranks I see it as reward for loyal posting There is also a nice quirkey system and it is interesting to see what happens next (e.g. The Doc's avatar when he turned Grand Caliph!). Plus, as DK says, it is tailorable and hence Pako's unique 'reward'.

Don never complained - maybe he never noticed that his rank was permanently changed to 'Threadworm' after he blasted countless posts into a couple of threads and wrecked them. Or maybe he took it as a compliment...
