Hi Murph, I am certainly looking forward to further pictures after the start . I think #3 is my favourite - I love that view over the lake; a great vista leading to the hills in the distance.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Nice tranquil scenes Murph, looks like you could easily do a two or three shot pan on those as well...

Welcome and thanks for bringing something back for us. Lovely set but I'll take the dark sheep and the wonderful lake shot as my favourites this time. That's one great, green pasture and a wonderful round tree. The mosty green colours turning blue in the lake shot while embraced by the hills is just amazing..
three great shots i like how the chain leads in to number one, bu I have to go with the concensus and declare number 3 as my favourite.

What is it with the Lake District? Is it watered with Kodachrome juice or something? I have never seen a photo taken there that I didn't like and never pass up an opprotunity to view one.

I grew up on the Solway Firth, the Western coast (north west, not south west) of the Lakes. I go back occasionally, and I took some of my first 'serious' landscape pix there around 1970. The west coast light is just amazing. There is a flat plain between the coast and the mountains, and this creates a distinctive level layer of cloud like a big reflector, while the sun in the evening comes in underneath the cloud layer. The result in luminous open light, not unlike Murph's east coast of Northumberland where the same thing happens in the morning and there is also a relatively flat coastal plain before the high ground of the Cheviots.
Ah, so there is something special about the place. I definitely must get there. I just discovered this site. The photography doesn't compare to what we get here but it does whet the appetite.
I used to visit Bristol a couple of times a year (we had a sister division there) and got to spend a little time around the waterfront, Bath, and a bit of Wales. Naturally, no camera. The good news is that my acquired taste for warm beer has not diminished.

We never got a spectacular sunset in the time we were there, but we did get one or two gentle ends to the day, this was taken at low tide outside our cottage
Yeah I especially like the evening shot with the boats high and dry and the moon in the background as well, also the Pippin attention shot is another I like especially because the background scene is in focus as well as the close dog, not as easy to arrange as one might think...
